Slab leaks are leakages from pipes that cause a home's foundation, or slab, to crack. There are a few main causes of this kind of pipe leak. The 1st is from corrosion. Diverse forms of pipes corrode at different rates and in different ways. For example, hot water lines that come into contact with soil will normally corrode from the exterior in, whilst cold water lines will usually corrode from the inside, out and metal electric lines may corrode due, not to water and soil contact, but as a result of electrolysis. Corrosion may cause openings in pipes which result in leaks. Additionally, pipes can spring leaks resulting from abrasion. If water moves through pipes the frequent vibration, contraction, and expansion against rocks, dirt, or other pipes could produce grating on the pipe before it leaks.
